Pastor Eduardo (Ed) Mercado
Senior Pastor
Eduardo (Ed) Mercado is a Licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church, International for over twenty five years. He also is an (AIMER) Associate in Missions under UPCI since January 1997 Ministering in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico & Laredo, Texas. He serves as the Dean of Purpose Institute of Mexico and Is a graduate of Advanced studies.
Chaplain-Naomi Duran Mercado
Pastors Wife Is a licensed minister of the Gospel and has worked alongside her husband in ministry over the last 25 yrs. She is a Certified Chaplain with Occupational Chaplains Association endorsed by the United Pentecostal Church International. She is a graduate of Purpose institute in Advanced studies.
One of her passions is to help others find healing, peace through their God given purpose.
LCDI Ladies Ministry
Ladies Ministry makes all the difference. We care for our sisters and spend time together learning and growing together. We all come together as a family and plan events to keep us connected.
Children's Ministry
The Gospel has a message for everyone, of every age, and in every language. Exposing your child to the Lord's path when they are young gives them guidance, hope and strength that lasts a lifetime.
Youth Ministry
Youth is a unique period of life, one filled with exploration, discovery, excitement and fulfillment. The Church Youth Ministry provides a nurturing, loving environment for young people exploring God's word and His path.
Hyphen Ministry
Luis is passionate about reaching people through the love of God. Our Hyphen ministry is filled with young energetic young adults who love God and love people. If you are a young adult looking for a church to be a part of, get to know us. We welcome you and your friends, we will make sure you get introduced to our hyphen leader to get connected with all of our fun events planned for this year.
Purpose Institute
Pastor Mercado and his wife Naomi answered the call to the country of Mexico in 1997 as Associates on Missions (A.I.M.) with the United Pentecostal Church International. They are the founders and pastors of La Casa de Israel IPU [The House of Israel UPC] in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Pastor Mercado’s prayer and hearts’ desire was to have a Bible school in order to equip and empower others to preach the Gospel with anointing, power, and knowledge. His prayers were answered when he was invited to teach classes in Cuba, where he was able to experience the impact of a Holy Ghost filled Purpose Institute campus. Upon returning from Cuba, preparations were made and the Purpose Institute of Mexico opened for class in February 2016. All the honor and glory belong to our God, who makes all things possible.
What can be expected when attending or opening a PI Campus?
- PI not only teaches students fundamental Apostolic doctrine, but it also challenges them to apply what has been learned through hands-on ministry which is required for graduation.
- The impact is seen throughout the semesters as students receive their calling to ministry.
- Countries are directly affected by PI; for example, our students opened three new preaching points as a direct result of PI training for ministry.
- Classes are held only once a month, allowing those who work secular jobs a flexible schedule that allows for study and family time.
We were very excited to announce our first graduating class of Purpose Institute of Mexico. 18 Graduates walked down the aisle to receive their foundational diploma, and it truly was a day of celebration.
We look forward to expanding Purpose Institute campuses throughout the country of Mexico, knowing this will empower others through Apostolic education and the power of the holy Ghost.
